About the Challenge

This summer CDC is challenging people of all ages, ethnicity, and backgrounds to engaged an a dynamic and collaborative artistic challenge. 

Each week we will post a prompt and we invite you...YES YOU...to respond to that prompt with any medium of artistry you chose.

 

You can respond to the prompt with a dance, song, monologue, dialogue motivational speech, or an artwork/drawing/painting. The sky is the limit!

We ask that for each week you participate, don't over think or think too much, respond to the prompt with authenticity. This is your moment to exercise you gifts and talents as an artist.

 

 

What is a provocation?

According to Racheous.com, a provocation is;

Put simply, provocations provoke! They provoke thoughts, discussions, questions, interests, creativity and ideas. They can also expand on a thought, project, idea and interest.

Provocations can come in many forms:

An interesting photo, picture or book,
Nature (e.g. specimens)
Conceptual (e.g. changing seasons, light)
Old materials displayed in a new way,
An interest that a child or children have,
An object (e.g. magnets, maps)
New creative mediums,
Questions (from any source – i.e. What is gravity?)
An event (e.g. a presentation, a holiday)

 

Challenge Schedule

Prompt Post:

We will submit the prompt for the week on every Sunday on our website and social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram)

Submission Due:

Submissions are due on Thursday the week that the prompt was posted. When we post the prompt you will have four days to create, record and submit to us.

Showcase of Artistry:

Once we receive your submissions we will create an video collage to showcase the curation of all submissions. The video will air on Saturday of each week.
